What's Your Tennis Score Today?

I don't know much about Tennis but obviously many adore the game. A client ordered some cupcakes for her friend's 21st birthday and her requested theme was "Tennis". I guess her friend must really be a fan of the sport and what's a better way to spend your 21st birthday, than with a bunch of people who loves you.

We did some research, racked our brains, and came up with the following design. We are sure glad that our client likes it.

Double the Cupcakes, Double the Fun

Remember we said we had lots of ideas bottled up in our minds? Well, continuing with our trail of thoughts on scrapbooking, we had a hard time narrowing down our ideas for execute, so we decided why not do more than one? Inspired by a vibrantly-colored scrapbooking paper that was filled with rows and rows of cupcakes, we thought....hmm...why not? After all, double the cupcakes, double the fun.

Cute as a Button

What else do you call adorable cupcakes like these? This is one of the rare projects where we were given full rein of the design, and boy do we have lots of ideas bottled up in our minds. We've always wanted to do a series of cupcakes that are inspired by scrapbooking, and oddly enough, the word 'buttons' popped up. Cute little buttons that could almost come in any form, be it plain and practical or dressy and fashionable. Either way, they sure are useful little things to dress up these cupcakes.

A Night of Mystery

{Small 6" Tiered Cake}

Anyone up for a little mystery? Our client did. She decided to celebrate her 21st birthday with a Masquerade Theme. We don't normally make tiered or 'large' cakes [by that, we meant anything larger than a 4" cake or a cupcake]. However on this day, we made an exception because she was my sister's friend and the birthday girl really wanted a tiered cake for her birthday bash.

{Masks on our cupcakes}

{Blue, Pink, Yellow and White Theme}

{Each Cupcake is customized individually}

{Close up on one of the cupcakes}

{Altogether now}

For this event, we customized a set of 30 fondant cupcakes and a small 6" tiered fondant cake. Happy 21th Birthday Missy!

Beach on Cupcakes

Normally when we start customizing cupcakes, we'll try to draw as much inspirations from the client as possible. What he or she likes, what they dislike, etc.

In this case, this client wanted to order a set of cupcakes for her boyfriend's birthday. She was very generous in sharing details about their love of things and we're glad that she did, because it allowed us to create this storyline of cupcakes that is very personal to both her and her boyfriend.

To Alvin, you are indeed one very lucky guy Mister! ;)
PS: Did I mention that they have a cute salt n' pepper schnauzer?

No it's not CNY

If your grandfather is anything as traditional as mine, then he would only have red on his cake. Our client apparently has a grandfather like mine because she requested for some very red cupcakes for his 90th birthday. We made traditional peaches to signify longevity and little Koi fishes for good luck.

Now all that is left to wonder is his reaction when he sees these cupcakes instead of a whole birthday cake.

Don't "Bling".....

Yeah, it is hard not to blink at these bling blings. This sparkly set was ordered by a customer for her sister. I guess I am not the only one who loves anything that glitters.

Every Little Girl's Dream

Was your childhood dream to be a Princess? This little girl got her wish early. To her mom, she is the little Princess that she deserves to be. So, a Princess got to have a princess cake for her birthday! And I, 'thy humble servant,' am honored to be chosen by the Queen to make this princess cake come true.

PS: Pardon me for getting a little carried away with the theme. After all, you have to immerse your heart and soul into each project yea?

This fondant Princess sits on a sparkly four inch cake adorned with flowers, and even has a 3-tiered birthday cake of her own.

{Princess 4 inch Cake}

Man'.....or should we say, Princess' best friend and her not-so-charming frog prince.

What is a Princess without her accessories? So, we made some accessories only fit for a Princess.

Now, we all know that any self-respecting Princess has a lady-in-waiting. This lucky Princess has twenty.

Putting all the cupcakes together was a task in itself. There were a total of one hundred large fondant cupcakes and one mini four inch cake to decorate. The whole project was finally completed after 1 whole week of planning and 3 whole days of work. 'Phew'

Cupcakes for an Angel

Do angels even eat cupcakes?

Wedding Cupcakes with Initials

In case you are wondering, we are still alive. Yes! we did have a two week break in June but business is in full swing and it has been all work and no play. Hmmmm........actually, we did have fun designing and making the fondant cupcakes.

Our first back-on-the-job cupcakes were a set of wedding cupcakes. The bride wanted pink buttercream cupcakes. To dress it up, we made a cupcake label with the couple's initials and the flavor of the different cupcakes. She had us delivered it to her church where she served her guests the mini cupcakes as they finished the ceremony.

{Initials in front and flavors at the back}

{Four different flavored cupcakes in pink frosting}

{In a box, all ready to go}
